Intelligent installation solutions for professional installers

From order management and route planning to installation and documentation: installing measuring points or smart thermostats in rented apartment blocks is a complex, time-consuming process. With bxTool, we are now providing installers with a digital solution that makes their work processes more efficient and smoother.

Team Phoenix – consisting of six software developers and Product Owner Fabian Dolstra – developed the new Android app from scratch: “Our top priority was to understand the daily challenges faced by installers and provide a solution that revolutionises their day-to-day work and enables them to perform at their best,” says Fabian.

Digital update for everyday installation work

The new application will further digitalise the trade of measuring service providers. In addition to the hardware to be installed – such as cold and hot water meters, heat cost allocators or smart thermostats and the necessary radio infrastructure – the traditional analogue installation process, which has been optimised over decades, is now also receiving a digital upgrade. This update not only replicates the existing process, but fundamentally transforms it.

Focus on user experience and data integrity

The development focussed on the best possible user experience (UX) and high data integrity. bxTool offers an intuitive user interface that makes all relevant information accessible to fitters at a glance and can be updated or added to on site. The app guarantees transparency for everyone involved in the process – fitters, dispatchers, purchasing, accounting and others – and ensures that everyone always has access to the same up-to-date information. This leads to a significant increase in efficiency in a previously paper-based working environment. In addition to faster and more reliable data processing, bxTool sustainably improves the day-to-day work of everyone involved.

Direct user feedback, agile further development

As with the requirements analysis, the beyonnex development team also liaises closely with users during the implementation and further development of the app. “Our aim is to achieve the best possible result and ensure that installers enjoy working with the app,” emphasises Fabian Dolstra. This close collaboration makes it possible to quickly integrate user feedback and continuously optimise the app.

Future developments on the product roadmap

The functionalities of bxTool are being continuously expanded. Planned features include a one-click solution for calls and the integration of navigation apps for simple route planning. Support for recording consumption data is also high on the list of priorities.

In the long term, bxTool is not only to be used within the group of companies. “We are working on being able to offer our product as a white-label solution to other metering service providers,” explains Fabian Dolstra another strategic goal of his team.
